Poet and Chicago native Jacob Saenz visits Oakton

Chicago native Jacob Saenz brings his brand of poetry to Oakton at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at the college's Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. This free event is part of Oakton's Chicago Writers Series.

Saenz, a CantoMundo Fellow, will read a selection of his poems. His works have been published in Great River Review, OCHO, Poetry, TriQuarerly, and other journals. A recipient of both a Letras Latinas Residency and a Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, he currently serves as an associate editor for RHINO and works as an acquisitions assistant at the Columbia College library.

A reception with light refreshments follows the event. This program is funded by the Oakton Educational Foundation and student activity fees.
