Aurora teen mother, baby found safe

A 17-year-old Aurora girl and her 9-month-old baby have been found safe, authorities said Tuesday afternoon.

Marisol Pena and her baby, Vanessa Paz, last were seen Monday evening. Police believe the mother took the child from her home on the 600 block of West Galena Boulevard after recent arguments with her family.

Police said they were following leads throughout the day Tuesday until reporting Marisol and Vanessa were found safe and sound about 4:20 p.m.

Police did not yet release where Marisol and Vanessa went after leaving their home but said details will be available later.
