Woman's body found in Kishwaukee River

ROCKFORD - Northern Illinois authorities are investigating after a kayaker found a woman's body in the Kishwaukee River.

A kayaker found the woman's body Sunday afternoon in the Kishwaukee Gorge Forest Preserve. The Winnebago County coroner's Office on Monday identified her as 46-year-old Beverly Janet Gitzmaker.

Officials say results were inconclusive after an autopsy. There will be further forensic studies.
