The evening of music is entitled: "From (J.S.) Bach to (P.D.Q.) Bach: (Un)Usual Music for Winds and Percussion." Featured selections for the concert include a brass sextet playing Contrapunctus I from The Art of the Fugue by J.S. Bach and a percussion trio performing Zivkovic's Trio Per Uno, III. Other unique selections include P.D.Q. Bach's Simply Grand Minuet from Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion (adapted by Peter Schickele), as well as excerpts from Terry Riley's In C. Also on the program are Schuman's Chester and Milhaud's Suite Francaise, more traditional band pieces with polytonal elements.

Musical excellence has always been at the core of the Symphonic Band, and this is reflected in their repertoire of classic and contemporary wind band literature. Trinity students majoring in music and the liberal arts make up the ensemble that serves to promote a lifetime of service to church, school, and community through music making.

Professor Brian Reichenbach directs the TIU Symphonic Band and teaches classes at Trinity in applied trumpet, music theory, aural skills, music technology, and brass techniques. An avid chamber musician, he is a member of the International Chamber Artists and founding member of the Lincoln Park Brass. Reichenbach has performed on the trumpet with ensembles including Chicago Sinfonietta, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, and Millar Brass. He is a member of the Elmhurst and Northbrook Symphonies.
