Naperville Jaycees hold 29th annual Egg Hunt

The Naperville Jaycees held their 29th annual egg hunt at Frontier Sports Complex in Naperville Saturday.

Karen Coleman of the Jaycees estimated there would be 3,500 to 5,000 people in attendance from 500 to 800 families, trying to snatch up as many of the 14,000 plastic Easter eggs as they could. The eggs were filled with candy, trinkets, coupons and a few special "Golden Tickets" for children to win larger prizes.

The egg hunt was divided into four age groups of children: 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 to make it a more even playing field as children scrambled to gather up eggs.

Coleman said the egg hunt has grown so large the Jaycees are looking for a new location next year. An indoor location is a possibility, freeing the group from the need to worry about inclement weather.
