Saturday, April 19

Men's 12" Lilac softball tournament: Double-elimination tournament from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Madison Meadow Park with cash prizes. Each team is guaranteed at least two games. Ages 18 and older. The team fee is $230. Info: lombardparks.com or (630) 620-7322.

Friday, May 2

Little Lady Lilac Ball: The dance will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Lombard Community Building. Open to dads and daughters ages 3 to 9. Includes dancing, games, sweets table and visit from the Lilac Princesses. Registration required: $12 residents, $14 others. Info: (630) 620-7322.

Lilac Queen Coronation: The 2014 Lilac Queen will be crowned in a ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. in Lilacia Park, continuing a Lombard tradition more than 70 years old.

Sunday, May 4

Lilac Time Art and Craft Fair: Arts and crafts vendors will be set up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on St. Charles Road in downtown Lombard, between Main and Elizabeth streets. The event, sponsored by the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce, also includes food and a kids zone. Info: (630) 627-5040.

Historic Downtown Lombard Walking Tour: Tickets for the 1 p.m. tour are available with or without a lunch. The $20 tickets include a box lunch from Shannon's Deli that will be served at noon. Tour-only tickets are $10 for the general public, $8 for seniors. Info: (630) 620-8063.

Lilac Ball: The Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce's 55th annual Lilac Ball is at The Carlisle, 435 E. Butterfield Road, Lombard. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $70 per person, or $650 for a table of 10, and include an open bar, dinner and dancing. Kiwanis Housewalk: The Kiwanis Club of Lombard is offering two tours - at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. - of five Lombard homes. Guests can meet the homeowners and designers during a reception from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Lombard Historical Society Coach House. Proceeds go to local organizations helping children. Tickets are $30. Lilac Time Mutt Strut 5K and 1-Mile Walk: The race begins at 8 a.m. at the corner of Maple and Park avenues. Lilac Pancake Breakfast: The Lombard Park District board of commissioners will serve up a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Lilacia Park.

Circus Celebration in Lilacia Park: Watch performances by Circus Boy at 2 p.m. and David Seebach at 3 p.m.
