2 killed in Quincy fire identified as man, son
QUINCY - Authorities have identified the two people who died in a Quincy house fire as a 25-year-old man and his infant son.
Adams County Coroner James Keller tells the Quincy Herald-Whig that Daniel Disseler and 4-month-old Hunter John Steven Disseler died at a hospital after being pulled from their burning home early Wednesday.
Investigators have said the blaze was caused by an overloaded electrical junction box in the home's attic.
Quincy Fire Chief Joe Henning says rescuers managed to pull the child's mother from a basement window. But the man and 4-month-old boy became trapped on the home's main floor, where the fire was most intense.
The woman was also taken to a hospital, but there was no immediate information on her condition.
