Peep(s) show: Artists create with Easter treats

A Peep(s) show in Long Grove?

Yes! And viewing and participation by children was allowed and encouraged!

The Long Grove Artists Guild is hosting its first Peeps Diorama Show which opened Saturday, April 5, and continues through April 26.

A Peeps artists reception was held Sunday, April 13, at the Long Grove Artists Guild Gallery on Fountain Square above the Potpourri Shop in Long Grove.

Peeps of all ages submitted their original works of art, made with everyone's favorite marshmallow Peeps.

Peeps visited from outer space. Peeps made their way through Oz. Peeps flew over Six Flags and some hung out with their Peeps at the gym. Peeps in every color came for a visit to the Long Grove Artists Guild Gallery.

Very official judges visited the Peeps the week before the reception. Awards were made in the following entry categories: Family, Adult, Child, Group and Business.

The distinguished judges were Long Grove Village President Angie Underwood; Skycrest veterinarian Dr. Kristin Wojcik (because Peeps are kind of animals); and Sweet Whimsy pastry chef Tiffany Schuler (because Peeps are marshmallows).

The public was invited to vote, too, for a "Peeple's Choice" Award.
