Rolling Meadows finishes fire station talks

The Rolling Meadows Fire Department this week will host its final two sessions explaining for the public the options for dealing with the city's aging downtown fire station.

The first session takes place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at city hall, 3600 Kirchoff Road. The final meeting is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Fire Station 15, 3111 Meadow Drive.

Fire Chief Scott Franzgrote will discuss the options, which includes moving both o the city's fire stations, moving just one or rebuilding the downtown station on its current site. Residents will have an opportunity to give their opinions on the three options the city council will consider.

Aldermen agree that the fire station building at 3111 Meadow Drive is in serious disrepair.
