Bob Dold cannot vote for himself
During the March 2014 primary, when GOP congressional candidate Bob Dold went into the voting booth, he could not cast a ballot for himself. Why? Because Bob Dold does not live in the district that he is campaigning and desiring to represent.
The law does allow for outsiders to run for Congress when they do not live in the district. However, I believe - and I bet you do too - that the intent our Founding Fathers was for us to be a representative republic. Those who know best about our districts (our neighbors) should be the people representing our interests in Washington. Not an outsider.
If Bob Dold wants to be a congressman, he should have run in his own district.
