Burlington Central opens with win

Burlington Central jumped ahead 6-0 in the first three innings Saturday and cruised to a 8-3 season-opening baseball win over Crystal Lake Central.

John Murphy paced the Rockets going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Mike Lee added 2 hits and a double of his own while Brendan Bushy drove in 2 runs.

Danny Gerke (1-0) picked up the victory in 3 innings of work as he allowed just 1 hit while striking out 1.
