Join director for questions after 'Ragamuffin' screening at Judson

Judson University will feature a pre-release screening of "Ragamuffin: The True Story of Rich Mullins" at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27 in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin. The director, David Leo Schultz, will be in attendance to introduce the film and lead Q&A after the film.

"Ragamuffin" is the true story of Rich Mullins, a prodigy musician raised on a farm in Indiana. Despite his struggles with alcoholism and addiction, Rich became a successful musician determined to express his beliefs in his music. More comfortable with the homeless than the wealthy, and more in love with Jesus than religion, Rich rose to Christian music fame only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. Dying tragically in a car accident at age 41, his story is a testament to living honestly in a culture of conformity. Ragamuffin stars Michael Koch, Wolfgang Bodison, James Kyson and Mitch McVicker.

The "Ragamuffin" screening is sponsored by Judson's Department of Film & Digital Media and Imago Film Festival. It precedes the Imago Film Festival, which will be held the following week April 1-5 at Judson University.

More information about the "Ragamuffin" film and Director David Leo Schultz can be found at ragamuffinthemovie.com, where advanced tickets can be purchased for $10 or $8 each for groups of 10 or more. Tickets also can be purchased at the door for $10 or $5 for Judson students, faculty, and staff.
