Batavia home-schooler wins national 3-point contest

At the national home-school basketball championships held in Springfield, Mo. on March 10-14, Jordan Boyd from Batavia won the boys varsity 3-point contest.

There were home-schoolers from the United States with more than 300 teams participating.

The final events were held at Missouri State University with more than 7,000 in attendance.

Jordan Boyd represented the Illinois Crusaders from the Kane County area. His team won the gold ball for Division II, a first for the varsity Crusaders! Jordan competed in the 3-point contest against over 90 players.

He placed in the top 3 in the first round.

On Friday night, at the arena, he won with a score of 9 out of 15 shots. He is the first Illinois home-schooler to win the contest!
