Jour du Macaron

In 2010, French pastry chef Pierre Herme declared that March 20 be celebrated as Jour du Macaron, or Macaron Day. He encourages macaron shops worldwide to support a local charity on this day.

From 1 to 4 p.m. March 20, Bon Macaron Chicago will support Autism Speaks at Bow Truss Coffee River North, 406 N. Wells St., Chicago. Customers who donate $5 or more to Autism Speaks will receive a celebratory meringue treat.
