Man killed by train in Grayslake
Grayslake Police say a 57-year-old Grayslake man was struck and killed by a train Monday.
Chief Phillip Perlini said dispatch received a call that the man was walking south along the tracks when he stepped in front of the northbound CN freight train at 8:12 a.m.
Perlini said officers found the body of Yunjie Liu along the south side of the tracks, about 75 feet south of Lake Street.
Grayslake Police and the Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.
Lake Street and Center Street in downtown Grayslake were blocked for a while by the train, Perlini said, and area traffic was rerouted during the investigation.
