Candidate shouldn't wear the uniform

I recently received a political mailing from Don Kramer for Kane County Sheriff. It was a well composed piece. But I have a problem with it.

The mailing shows Kramer sitting at a desk while wearing a Kane County Sheriff's uniform. He is not a police officer and I always though it was illegal to impersonate a police officer.

He was an officer with the Kane County Sheriff's Department, but he retired five years ago. I don't think being a former police officer gives him the right to campaign wearing the uniform. It is being misleading and dishonest.
