Authorities probe man's drowning in Du Quoin lake

DU QUOIN - Authorities say a man drowned and a woman was hospitalized after their boat capsized on a lake in the southern Illinois city of Du Quoin.

Investigators say the accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday on Du Quoin City Lake in Perry County.

The victims' identities haven't yet been released, and the surviving woman's medical status was not immediately clear Tuesday.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is assisting in the investigation.
