St. Charles Public Library
The St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave., is celebrating Teen Tech Week March 8-14. It is a library-wide celebration of teen programming and the many tech resources available to teens at the library.
To celebrate Teen Tech Week, the Library has scheduled a "Hackathon - Website Remix" from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the Carnegie Community Room. Using X-Ray Goggles from Mozilla Webmaker Tools, students will select a favorite website and change it to fit their personality - from serious to silly. No HTML knowledge is required; but you'll have some by the time you leave. Teens can win a MakeDo kit.
On Friday, March 14, the library is celebrating everyone's favorite irrational number - Pi. Enjoy free pie slices while playing with Raspberry Pi and Arduino mini computers from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Carnegie Community Room. One lucky teen will go home with a CanaKit Raspberry Pi Ultimate Starter Kit.
Teen Tech Week is a yearly event hosted by the Young Adult Library Services Association of the American Library Association.
