Chicago teen struck and killed by commuter train
A 17-year-old Chicago high school student was struck by a commuter train and killed on the city's Northwest Side as he made his way to school Friday.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the Taft High School student identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Erik Lucansky was struck by the Metra train on Friday shortly before 7 a.m.
The paper reported that the school's website says that grief counselors met with students and staff.
Trains were stopped for about 45 minutes before service was resumed.
