One person killed in Aurora crash
Aurora police are investigating a Thursday morning accident that killed a 56-year-old Aurora woman.
Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said authorities responded at 4:15 a.m. to reports of the accident at Randall Road, just south of Sullivan Road.
He said the preliminary investigation indicates the woman - whose name was being withheld pending notification of family members - was walking north on Randall when she was hit by a northbound 2003 Ford Taurus being driven by a 65-year-old woman from Aurora.
The victim was taken to an Aurora hospital by fire department paramedics. Ferrelli said the woman died while in surgery at the hospital.
There were no signs of drugs or alcohol at the accident scene, he said.
