Help local charities with Geneva Community Chest's Wine Gala
Enjoy a four-course wine and pairing at the Geneva Community Chest's annual Wine Gala Tuesday, March 4, at Riverside Receptions, 35 N. River Lane, Geneva. Tickets are $50 a person. Cash bar opens at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The four courses include: arugula topped with pear and shaved Parmesan, with champagne vinaigrette, crab-stuffed flounder with a citrus butter sauce over risotto, smoked duck breast with a cherry sauce over whipped potatoes, and lollipop lamb chop with a lamb demi glaze and baby vegetables.
Gracious Hall of Geneva is donating desserts and Vintage Point, headquartered in Sonoma, Calif., is donating the wines.
Proceeds from the Wine Gala will help the Geneva Community Chest provide funds to more than 20 area charitable organizations that work toward enhancing the quality of life for Fox Valley communities and residents.
People can purchase tickets on the Community Chest website, www.genevacommunitychest.org, or by contacting Deb Fee at (630) 488-3115 or dfee@bankstcharles.com.
Four baskets filled with donations from local merchants will be raffled off at the gala.
"The gala brings residents, friends and guests together for an evening of fun and food that benefits Geneva and the surrounding area," said Geneva Community Chest President Jeff Rodewald.
"Over the years, the Geneva Community Chest has cared for kids through donating bicycle helmets and bicycle safety education to all Geneva first-graders, grief counseling and other programs aimed at young people," he said.
"We've helped those in need through donating to hospice organizations, food pantries, homeless shelters, local Salvation Army and Red Cross charities, and LivingWell Cancer Resource Center. We've supported community efforts to support literacy, housing and organizations that work to improve conditions for area residents."
