Elgin Women's Club to host annual luncheon

The Elgin Woman's Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, with a luncheon and program at Villa Olivia Country Club, Route 20 and Naperville Road, Bartlett.

Hosted by the Education Department, the program will feature a presentation by Amy Flynn, supervisor for adult protective services at Senior Services Associates Inc. Hostesses for the March meeting will be Phyllis Rudolph, Education Department chairman, and Diane Montgomery, a club member.

Reservations should be made by calling the hotline at (847) 622-3614. Cost for the luncheon meeting and program is $20 and may be paid for by check the day of the meeting.

Since the club was founded in 1887, members have supported hundreds of local projects, including yearly scholarships to students from area high schools. The club's major accomplishment was the founding of Sherman Hospital in 1888.

In addition, members volunteer in hospitals and other agencies throughout the Elgin area and are active in recycling, conservation, women's health, international affairs and other projects.
