Des Plaines man pleads guilty to sexual assault
A Des Plaines man charged with sexually abusing a middle-school student pleaded guilty to the charges, court clerk records show.
Eduardo Contreras, 46, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual assault Thursday and was sentenced to four years in prison. Additionally, he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and must pay $689 in fines.
The victim wrote a note to a friend saying Contreras tried to sexually assault her, authorities said during Contreras' bond hearing last year. A teacher intercepted the note and alerted the principal. During an interview at the Children's Advocacy Center in Hoffman Estates, the girl admitted Contreras abused her several times.
Contreras received credit for 495 days in custody.
