"Immigration and Education: Opening the Doors of Opportunity" will be offered Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the Meadows Community Rooms at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.
The program will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by networking from 8 to 8:30 p.m.
Learn about some of the opportunities that exist in Elgin for immigrant students of any age - from preschool to adulthood - to pursue their dreams, become informed about the challenges and resources along the way, and listen to the story of a student who is triumphing in her educational journey.
Service providers and the public will be able to share information at the end of the program. Spanish translation will be available.
It is a program of the American Association of University Women, in partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens, Gail Borden Public Library, Elgin Community College, Centro de Información and the YWCA.
