Submitted by Ripple Public Relations

The second annual Mac N Cheese contest at Max's Deli in Highland Park was a great success, raising more than $1,500 for Stand Up for Kids Chicago.

The event also collected winter outer wear and recruited several volunteers in the process, as the organization always welcomes inquiries from youth groups and volunteers to distribute food and clothing while walking the streets with Stand Up For Kids volunteers.

The Mac N Cheese competition was judged by attendees and special guest judges: Beth Engleman of the Sun Times Media Group "Mommy on a Shoestring" column, and regular radio Disney, WCIU "You and Me This Morning" and WGN's Midday News correspondent; Scott Fischer, personal chef, "Dancing with the Stars" culinary expert, season 1 MasterChef contestant, and founder of Fisch & Chips Cookies and Granola; and Jamie Bradley, Editor, HP Landmark.

Restaurants participating included Captain Jacks BBQ, Valley Lodge Tavern of Wilmette, Dunlay's on the Square, and Max's Deli's Chef Jonathon from Baton Rouge, LA.
