Caregivers can take break through Respite Care

The Respite Care Program, aka A Caring Place, was developed to offer caregivers a break from their 24/7 responsibilities. The fun, structured activity program is for adults with mild cognitive or physical impairments.

Participants enjoy the company of others while participating in exercise, cards, crafts, baking and much more. The program is organized and supervised by trained and caring staff.

The group meets from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1045 S. Arlington Heights Road, in Elk Grove Village. The program seems to have been one of the best kept secrets in Elk Grove Village and the group wants to get the word out to more caregivers.

Additional volunteers are also always welcome. This is a great program where volunteers go away feeling like you had a lot of fun while helping others.
