If yes, please explain: I was a college freshman riding in a car driven by my RA, when we were pulled over for having a street sign in the car which was intended to serve as a college dorm decoration. We were arrested and charged with a moving violation. Charges were later dropped.Questions Answers Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is that?I have served my community for 10 years, but have been frequently asked to help those in neighboring communities and unincorporated areas. I want to be able to provide those residents the same honest and energetic leadership that Mundelein residents have learned to expect from me.What differentiates you most from your opponents in the race?I am the most experienced at representing members of the community. As a trustee, I have proven myself to be a conscientious, reliable, and energetic board member. I have been involved in local government strategic and comprehensive planning, negotiating public private partnerships, and providing responsive representation for the community.What's your top priority for the county board or forest preserve board? Please talk about a specific project or piece of legislation - or eliminating or reducing specific areas of spending.53 will literally cut this district in half. We need to make sure that we are participating in mindful planning so that we can fully capitalize on all new business opportunities 53 will bring, while conserving the open country feel so valued in this county. Additional planning is also needed to improve capacities on existing roadways.Same-sex marriage becomes legal next summer. That means extra revenue for the county (through the clerk's office) and local businesses. Should the county board or staff, through its partnership with Lake County Partners or other groups and agencies, encourage people to get married in Lake County, as opposed to Cook County or elsewhere? Some counties in other states have launched advertising campaigns to promote their communities, for example.I think advertising the county as a marriage venue is best left to those private businesses providing marriage planning and services.Do you have any ideas on how you could work with municipalities within your district? What kind of issues do you think it would be worth collaborating on?Many of the main transportation arteries that go through our communities are county roads. I want to work with municipalities to increase capacity on these streets. It is especially important to achieve this before route 53 brings more demand to our streets.Finally, is there anything we haven't asked about that you feel we should know?I also would like to see the county involved in helping neighboring communities to negotiate boarder agreements including what type of development to encourage on boarder corridors and possible tax sharing agreements.
