If yes, please explain: No.Questions Answers Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is that? The citizens of Will County deserve new leadership at the Sheriff's Office. They deserve someone with integrity and good moral character. Someone who is qualified and experienced in every aspect of the Sheriff's Office. In addition, someone who has the ability to lead and make Will County a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. I am that person. What differentiates you most from your opponents in the race?Unlike my Republican primary opponent, I worked my way through the ranks AT the Will Co. Sheriff's Dept. to achieve the rank of Deputy Chief. Unlike all of my opponents, I worked at the Sheriff's Dept. for over 31 years, and I have worked in or supervised every aspect of the Sheriff's Dept. I also have the education, training and leadership skills that suit the position of Sheriff. What are your thoughts about the idea of having municipal police departments patrol unincorporated areas? The Sheriff's Dept. provides exceptional coverage (per service hour) for unincorporated areas of Will County. Due to the complexity of law enforcement, local, state and federal coordination requirements and the continuing rising costs of local police services, municipalities should be considering contract policing with the Sheriff's Department. Contract policing through the Sheriff's Department is the most effective police service that can be provided to the tax payers at the least amount of cost. The Sheriff's Department provides manpower coverage in patrol with all the support services already built in when needed by a municipality. Finally, is there anything we haven't asked about that you feel we should know?I have a number of platform issues listed on my website www.ficarelloforsheriff.com and Facebook Page at 'Ficarello for sheriff' that cover a wide range of topics that are important to me and to everyday citizens that are looking for new leadership for a safer Will County. I invite anyone in the County with a question or suggestion to contact me at nickficarelloforsheriff@gmail.com I value the input of those that the Office serves. Thank you.
