If yes, please explain: NoQuestions Answers Why are you running for this office, whether for re-election or election for the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you? If so, what?I'm running for County office to assist in the growth and development of the County. Preserving the high quality of suburban life style, farming, commercial delevelopment and manufacturing. I am concerned with the high level of taxes, transportation, the protection of fresh ground water, control of the storm water run-off and new regulations of the unified delevelopment ordinance (UDO).Describe your position regarding the balance between county spending and revenues as it exists today, then describe the chief threats you see looming in the future and how the county should deal with them.The county has maintained a AAA bond rating which shows responsible borrowing and spending. I fully support and feel it is my and the county board members responsibilty to maintain and control those apects. Capital improvements and transportation needs are the largest threats I see looming in the future. I feel proper monetary planning of future needs is essential to maintaining our AAA bond rating to acquire the best rates for borrowing.If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of any important initiatives you've led. If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?As an incumbent my main contrabutions are the working on protecting the ground water as McHenry County acquires all their water from wells. In implementing the protection of ground water I have worked with the IEPA developing a five year program of monitoring ground water levels and supplies. Also, I have worked on developing new regulations for storm water control, flood way planning, rewriting the storm water regulations for the county making the regulations more user friendly and improving the quality of protection of the water.How do you rate the county government on transparency and the public's access to records? If you consider it adequate, please explain why. If you think improvements are needed, please describe them and why they are important.I find the County to be very transparent. Internet access to records, files, documents, minutes and County Board Packets are all easily accessible. The Freedom of Information Act is fully executed by the county.Name one concrete program youâ#128;™ll create or personnel move youâ#128;™ll make to improve efficiency in the office or make it more successful. Explain how it will be funded and how you will overcome any obstacles to initiating it.I would like to create a program to attract more businesses to operate in McHenry County. To make it more profitable for the business which in turn makes McHenry County grow.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I think other than taxes it is important to make transportation improvements.
