Swedish American Children's Choir to host benefit dinner

Celebrate National Meatball Day Swedish-style with a benefit dinner for the Swedish American Children's Choir from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia.

The dinner will feature Swedish meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, lingonberries, Swedish rye bread and dessert. Also featured will be a Swedish gift items for purchase, Swedish and American baked goods for sale, Swedish antiques and more. All proceeds from the event benefit the choir performance tour fund.

The choir, in its 18th year, is the largest of its kind in the Midwest and comprised of children ages 4 to 17 from the Fox Valley and surrounding suburbs. They present performances of Swedish songs and Scandinavian dances throughout the area.

Dinner tickets are by reservation only and carry out orders are available. Tickets are $13 for adults, $6 for children, ages 3 to 10 and those younger than age three are free.
