NAMI plans next coffee in monthly series on Aug. 9 in Geneva

The National Alliance on Mental Illness is sponsoring its monthly coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at TriCity Family Services, 1120 Randall Court, Geneva.

The guest speaker Anna McCaffrey will have a presentation and discussion on "Cultural Competence." McCaffrey is a member of the TriCity clinical team and a bilingual therapist working with children and families.

National Alliance on Mental Illness-DeKalb, Kane-South & Kendall Counties is an affiliate of the nation's largest grass-roots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research. NAMI is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.

NAMI membership is open to all. NAMI is dedicated to improving the lives of people with mental illness and their families.

The public is welcome to attend the free monthly coffees. Enjoy light refreshments and to learn what NAMI DKK offers in mental health education, advocacy, and support of families and individuals living with mental health issues.
