AARP driving course at library
The St. Charles Public Library will host AARP Smart Driver from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 7 and 9, in the Huntley Meeting Room.
AARP Smart Driver is the nation's first and largest driver safety course designed especially for drivers age 50 and older.
This course covers defensive driving techniques and provides tips for adjusting to the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. Participants will learn about current rules of the road and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment.
Advanced registration is required. Participants must attend both days. A fee of $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers includes a guidebook. Attendees pay the instructor directly. To register, sign up in person at the Reference Desk or by calling (630) 584-0076, ext. 1 or at events.stcharleslibrary.org/evanced/lib/eventcalendar.asp.
The St. Charles Public Library is at One S. Sixth Ave., St. Charles. For more information, visit www.st.charleslibrary.org or call (630) 584-0076, ext. 1.
