Citizens for Conservation presents ‘The Homeowner and the Water Cycle’

Citizens for Conservation Community Education Committee presents “The Homeowner and the Water Cycle” Saturday, Feb. 22, at Barrington Village Hall, 200 S. Hough St., in Barrington.

Learn how to deal successfully with rainwater on your property, keeping the rain where it falls to infiltrate the substratum and replenish groundwater.

Join Citizens for Conservation for “The Homeowner and the Water Cycle” and discuss groundwater recharge and the part homeowners can play in assuring that the Barrington area has a supply of clean water for their wells. The program will stress actions residents can take to protect their water supply.

Speaker is Kurt O. Thomsen, Ph.D., PG., the president/hydrogeologist of KOT Environmental Consulting, Inc. Dr. Thomsen has more than 35 years of groundwater resource management and hydrological investigations and is the coordinator of the Flint Creek Watershed Partnership.

The presentation will begin at 10 a.m., but please come at 9:30 a.m. for coffee, conversation and handouts.

The program fee is $10 for nonmembers; CFC members attend for free as a benefit of membership.
