Spotlight Youth Theater to perform ‘Shrek the Musical’ at CLC
Students ages 8-18 of Spotlight Youth Theater will present “Shrek the Musical” at the College of Lake County’s James Lumber Center.
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, “Shrek the Musical” brings the story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on the stage. This production is full of new songs, dancing, and great scenery.
Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7; 2 and 6 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 8 and 15; and 3 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 9 and 16. The College of Lake County is at 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

Spotlight Youth Theater is a nonprofit, educational theater arts program for students ages 5-18 in the Aurora, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kenosha, Lake, McHenry, Milwaukee, Oak Park, Orland Park, Rockford Metro, and Shorewood areas. It has approximately 6,000 students per year.
Each area offers summer camps and after school classes in dance, voice, drama and theatrical specialties, and performs three fully staged musical productions per year.
Spotlight is nondiscriminatory and welcomes all children. Spotlight Youth Theater also offers an inclusion program, which assists students with special needs to participate in classes and productions.
