Cougars tickets go on sale Thursday
Single-game tickets for the 2014 Kane County Cougars season will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.
At that time, fans can purchase tickets in person at the Cougars’ box office, online at kccougars.com or by phone at (630) 232-8811. Group outings, season tickets and ticket packages starting at 10 games are all currently on sale. Opening Night at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, against Fort Wayne.
The 2014 season, which will be the 24th season of Cougars baseball in the Chicago area includes numerous promotional acts, special events and theme nights which will give fans a great deal of excitement for the upcoming season.
A new ballpark concert series will bring a total of five bands playing before select Saturday summer games. The bands are some of the most popular groups in the Chicago area such as American English, 7th Heaven and Hi Infidelity.
Recently, the Cougars announced 20 theme nights including a pair of Star Wars Nights, three different Bark in the Park dog nights and other fun events such as NIU Night and Back to School Night.
In addition to the above promotional nights, ballpark organist Nancy Faust will play live organ music before and during every Sunday home game beginning May 4. Those Sunday dates are also Sunday Fundays with free kids entertainment such as pregame autograph sessions with Cougars players. Select Sundays are also “Kids Eat Free” dates with a complimentary hot dog and soda voucher given to kids age 3-10. The Jesse White Tumblers will perform their highflying routine following every Saturday game beginning May 3 and Thirsty Thursdays, with $1 beers, sodas and even hot dogs begin on May 15 and include every Thursday home game from May through the end of the season, excluding July 3. A total of 27 home dates will feature a postgame fireworks show.

The Cougars, Class-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, include a total of 124 former players who have reached the big leagues such as Miguel Cabrera and Ryan Dempster. Just last week, MLB.com released its list of the Top 100 prospects with the list including six former Cougars such as Cubs prospects Albert Almora and Pierce Johnson, both of whom played at Kane County in 2013.
