Arlington Heights Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast set for Feb. 6

In addition to a breakfast buffet, there will be Scripture readings, music, and a keynote address by Will Biersdorf, founder of Salute Inc. and director of the Road Home Program — The Center for Veterans and their Families at Rush University.

Biersdorf, a veteran of operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom, was raised in Chicago. He and his wife Mary Beth and their three sons live in Arlington Heights. Both Salute Inc. and the Road Home Program help military members, veterans, and their families. Biersdorf has degrees in accounting and public administration and has worked in the public accounting and health care industries. He will be speaking about the role faith has played in his life.

The invocation will be said by Pastor Ouk-Yean-Kim Jueng, Lead Pastor, First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights. Betsy Kmiecik, vice president for Human Resources at Paddock Publications will do a reading from the Old Testament and Ed Taylor, Lead Pastor, Quest Church of Arlington Heights will do a New Testament Reading. Music will be performed by Dan and Midge Wells.

This is the first Mayor’s Community Prayer Breakfast being hosted by the new mayor of Arlington Heights, Tom Hayes and his wife Sue. Mayor Hayes has expressed interest in having widespread community participation in the event. Lutheran Life Communities is once again sponsoring the prayer breakfast with a generous donation.

Tickets are $20 per person and may be ordered and paid for on line at arlingtonheightschamber.com.
