Wind chill warning over, but not the cold

The National Weather Service’s Chicago office has issued a winter advisory overnight warning of blowing snow.

The winter advisory through 4 a.m. Friday says wind gusts could create blowing and drifting snow that could reduce visibility in open areas. “Roads may be snow-covered and hazardous,” it says.

It’s not expected to get above 9 degrees today with wind chill readings this morning making it feel like 20 to 28 below zero.

Tonight should be mostly clear with lows of 5 to 9 below.
