CASA Kane County partners with DCFS
Submitted by CASA Kane County
CASA Kane County recently announced a special partnership with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
In an effort to enhance the knowledge base of DCFS and private agency child welfare professionals, the department is partnering with CASA Kane County to share selected podcasts covering a set of DCFS selected topics.
The podcasts are now available in the training section of the DCFS internal website and new ones will be added as new podcasts are developed. Currently, the DCFS training site includes 13 of CASA Kane County’s 34 podcasts.
This initiative is another way that child welfare agencies can all work together to better serve our most vulnerable children.
CASA Kane County is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system. Volunteers are often the only one constant person advocating for the children throughout the duration of the case, often holding the their history, and providing a caring and supportive person that the children can trust. The ongoing presence of a CASA/GAL volunteer helps prevent children from languishing in foster care and ensures they remain in safe and permanent homes.
