Chicago student dies in fall from San Diego cliff

Authorities say a woman who attended the University of Illinois at Chicago fell to her death while posing for a photo on a beachside cliff in San Diego.

A Fire-Rescue dispatcher tells the Union-Tribune newspaper that a call for medical aid was made Sunday evening in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood, but it was canceled when the woman’s body was found.

Police say the 25-year-old woman, identified as Anna Bachman of Santa Rosa, was posing for a picture with her sister when she fell. She was pursuing a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, the Union-Tribune reported.

The incident is under investigation.
