Horta sentencing delayed:

The sentencing of a man convicted of killing a Waukegan man and dumping his body in the Penny Road Pond near Barrington was delayed Wednesday. Jose Horta, 21, of the 300 block of Edison Court in Waukegan, was convicted Nov. 22 of first-degree murder of David Campbell, 27, also of Waukegan. Horta was due to be sentenced to 35 years to life in prison by a Lake County judge Wednesday, but prosecutors requested additional time to review post-trial motions filed by Horta’s attorney. The sentencing hearing was rescheduled to Feb. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake County Courthouse. Horta remains jailed without bond.
