Five ‘Star Performers’ recognized for service

At the Thursday, Dec. 12, Arts in Bartlett annual Holiday Party, five Star Performer Awards were given out for service recognition.

Included were Lambert and Eileen Lucietto, of Bartlett, charter members and volunteers. Lambert is co-manager of the Village Art Gallery and Eileen volunteers at the Center for the Arts and is active with the annual Arts Festival; Phyllis Muhling, of Bartlett, who volunteers weekly as the pianist for the Bartlett International Chorus since their formation in 2007; Tom Lezon, of Hanover Park, who has volunteered for eight years doing the sound system for the two-day entertainment of the annual Arts Festival; and Joyce Davis, of Bartlett, posthumously. Davis was a board member and singer in the Bartlett International Chorus since 2007. Sixteen members of her family were present, and a monetary gift was presented to Rev. Susan Tyrrel of Immanuel UCC, where Joyce attended.

Recognition awards were also given to Spartan Consulting, a group of students from Elgin Community College led by John Karnatz of Elgin Community College; and Kim Taylor, Bartlett resident and facilitator of recent focus groups and surveys.

In addition to the Star Awards, a Decorated Birdhouse silent auction brought in funds for the Youth Arts Scholarship and Budding Talent Grant. The highest bid of the night was a replica of Immanuel UCC, Bartlett’s oldest church. Tony Passaro made the winning bid, and he donated the birdhouse to Immanuel UCC.
