Batavia students named Illinois State Scholars

Seventy-eight Batavia High School students are among nearly 19,000 students across Illinois that have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.
Illinois State Scholar winners rank in the top 10 percent of high school seniors from hundreds of high schools across the state. Selection is based on SAT, ACT and/or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores, and/or class rank at the end of the junior year. High school guidance counselors work in conjunction with ISAC to determine the winners.
“I am pleased that so many of our students have been recognized by ISAC for their outstanding academic achievement,” said JoAnne Smith, Batavia High School principal. “It is not only a testament to the students’ hard work, but also to the parents and teachers that actively support our students.”
