Winter Ribfest teams sought:

Lake Villa Township officials say they are seeking teams to participate in the annual Winter Ribfest competition, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25, from noon to 4 p.m. at Caboose Park, 37908 N. Fairfield Road, Lake Villa. Organizers provide the ribs — from Tony’s Butcher Shop, 209 Barron Blvd., Grayslake — and teams are asked to provide their favorite recipe and barbecue talent. The cost is $50 per entry. Rules and regulations are available at www.Lakevillatownship.org or by calling Lake Villa Township at (847) 356-2116. Award categories are for: sauce and dry ribs, people’s choice and best booth theme. A rib-eating contest is also scheduled, in which competitors will see how many ribs they can eat in 3 minutes.
