Leaders spinning a wheel of misfortune?

Recently, I came across the television game show “Wheel of Fortune.” The contestants spin a wheel and select a letter and win cash or other prizes on the way to solve a word puzzle.

I often wonder if our governing bodies use the same principle. Gov. Pat Quinn and the legislators will take a category such as road taxes and increase it for $100 and pass that on to the taxpayers. However, in this case the puzzle is never solved, and the prize is higher taxes to the people of Illinois. Maybe the governor and the legislators do not understand the game, or they understand it too well.
