Your news Alpha Delta Pi state chapter honors member by establishing service award

The President of the Alpha Delta Pi Northwest Countryside Alumnae Association, Barbara Reed Bay, was recently honored by the Alpha Delta Pi Chapter at Illinois State University, Zeta Theta, by the establishment of an annual award for service.

The Illinois State Chapter celebrated its 40th anniversary and wished to honor Bay, a charter member and a supporter of the sorority.

Because of Bay’s many years of service at various levels of Alpha Delta Pi, the Illinois State Chapter has established an annual award for achievement, accomplishments or service. All members of the chapter in good standing are eligible for nomination.

Bay has served on the Illinois State Chapter’s Corporation Board for many years. She is now serving on the Corporation Board for the Alpha Delta Pi Chapter at Northern Illinois University. She has served as president of the Alpha Delta Pi Northwest Countryside Alumnae Association for over 20 years. And she is involved in Alpha Delta Pi at the national level, having attended 11 International Grand Conventions.

Alpha Delta Pi is an international sorority that was established in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Ga. Alpha Delta Pi is committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards and social responsibility. The principles of scholarship, leadership, sisterhood and service guide over 235,000 women in more than 148 active collegiate chapters and over 150 alumnae associations of Alpha Delta Pi.
