Palatine man sent to prison for kicking disabled teen
A Palatine man pleaded guilty to striking a disabled teenage girl earlier this year.
In exchange for Javier Rosales’ guilty plea to aggravated battery of a handicapped person, Cook County Judge Joel Greenblatt sentenced the 36-year-old to three years in prison and ordered him to pay $744 in fines.
Additionally, Greenblatt signed an order of protection, which remains in effect until December 2019.
In March 2013, Rosales was feeding the girl, and when she became uncooperative, he responded by kicking her, authorities said.
Rosales, who was held on $150,000 bond, received credit for the 263 days he has been in custody.
