Carmel Catholic to hold first car raffle during Street Scenes fundraiser
One lucky winner will be the owner of a new car following the annual Street Scenes fundraiser at Carmel Catholic High School Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15, 2014.
Starting now until Feb. 15, contestants can buy their chance to win either a 2014 Chevy Sonic or 2014 Kia Soul, courtesy of Raymond Chevrolet, Liberty Kia and Carmel Catholic High School.
Raffle tickets are $50 each, or three for $125, and can be purchased in many ways — online at www.events.org/sscarraffle or in person at the Carmel Catholic High School bookstore, at an upcoming winter athletic event or during Street Scenes.
All monies raised will provide tuition assistance to Carmel Catholic High School students. More than $1.1 million has been awarded to students in need of tuition assistance so far this year.
Early buyers will be entered into a special drawing on Dec. 26, where two buyers will win $50 car wash gift cards. The winner of the car will be drawn at Street Scenes at midnight Saturday, Feb. 15; winner need not be present. Only 500 raffle tickets will be sold.
This year’s theme for Carmel Catholic’s largest annual fundraiser is “Street Scenes Salutes the Troops,” dedicated to those who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.
Street Scenes will open to the general public (21 and older) at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15. For the past 39 years, Street Scenes has earned a reputation as the biggest theme party of the season in Lake County.
Each year, Carmel Catholic High School is completely transformed into a party-town atmosphere with more than 20 live bands, food and drink from area restaurants, comedy clubs and the famous Student Show in the auditorium.
The student show is professionally produced and choreographed, presenting four shows per night. The school gym is transformed into a Las Vegas-style casino with popular games.
Also new at Street Scenes this year is a silent auction. Contact Laurie Wienke at (847) 388-3390 for details.
