Rain, ice could make travel difficult this weekend

According to accuweather.com, a stationary front over the Northwest suburbs could drop temperatures below the freezing mark, causing ice to form on area roads this afternoon.

The freezing rain advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. this afternoon and a winter storm watch is set to begin Saturday evening, ending Sunday afternoon.

AccuWeather says there is the potential for significant snow and sleet accumulation when the second storm system arrives Saturday evening.
