Willow Creek set for “inspiring” Christmas services
More than 75,000 worshippers are expected to attend services featuring a retelling of the Christmas story beginning Saturday at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington.
The church is offering 11 identical services in English and one in Spanish that will include vivid multimedia, traditional Christmas carols, and a message of hope from Senior Pastor Rev. Bill Hybels and Teaching Pastor Rev. Steve Carter.
“We want to bring the timeless message of Christmas to life in a way that will capture the hearts of people of every age,” Carter said.
At select services, Willow Creek will offer language translation in Korean, Chinese, Spanish and sign language. Promiseland, Willow’s children’s ministry, is available for infants through age five.
Service times and dates are Saturday, Dec. 21, at 4 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 22, at 9 and 11:30 a.m., and 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 23, at 4 and 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 24, at noon, and 3 and 6 p.m.
Services will be held in Willow Creek’s 7,000-seat auditorium located on the corner of Barrington and Algonquin roads in South Barrington. All services are free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
