Handel’s ‘Messiah’ singalong with Bravissimo group in Schaumburg

Make a “joyful noise” this Christmas with Bravissimo Vocal Group as they present Handel’s Messiah — singalong style.

Dig out your music score — or borrow one — and come at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, to Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 119 West Wise Road in Schaumburg. Baritone Scott Uddenberg will direct the “Christmas” portion of the Messiah, plus the Hallelujah Chorus. The event will be open seating, organized by vocal parts: soprano, alto, tenor, baritone. Friends and family may choose to sit together. You may just sit and listen.

Featured soloists include: sopranos Kimberly Albrecht and Susan Dennis, Bruce Dopke (tenor), Anna Flynn (soprano), Oscar Menoyo (tenor), Scott Uddenberg (baritone), organ accompaniment by Stephen Uhl. The soloists will also present traditional Christmas selections.

Concert proceeds will benefit WINGS, a 501(c)3 organization, whose mission is “to provide a continuum of integrated services in an effort to end domestic violence and homelessness one family at a time.” Though any amount is welcome, the suggested donation is $10.
